Project History

SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS

Business Focus is experienced in delivering outputs and targets to ensure the success of the contracts it has delivered. Detailed below is a selection of contracts which have recently been delivered:

CITB (Construction Industry Training Board)

Ongoing management of training and consultancy needs of the specialist construction sector.  Managing a budget of £350,000 to deliver training and consultancy nationally.  We report directly to the CITB in meeting construction company needs.  We are assigned to target ‘hard to reach’ companies (SMEs) which have not received funding for the past 3 years. We also have targets for job safeguarding and creation in our management of CITB Flexible Fund programmes.

CITB Media Project

A current media development and distribution project that promotes the construction sector for recruitment and qualification routes to progress new start careers, encouraging employment within this sector.

Growth Vouchers

As accredited suppliers to the Dept. of Business, Innovation and Skills program to deliver up to £2,000-part funding for each consultancy. Business Focus provided Leadership and Management consultancy with particular emphasis on job safeguarding and employment outcomes.

Local Authority Consultancy Support

As part of a programme to ensure that local suppliers were ‘Tender Ready’, we organised direct consultancy support to ensure that selected SME companies had robust Quality Management Systems in place.

Chambers of Commerce

The Spark Up Programme. We provided mentoring services to new potential businesses - our client ‘Triketastic’ was the winning business in 2015, looking to initially create six jobs.

City Challenge

Council funded consultancy services to inner city SMEs.  Business Focus provided Business and Marketing consultancy services to companies looking to grow in inner city areas and create employment opportunities.

The above recent projects required a deep understanding of the client base, the management of the delivery of public funds, and the responsibility to ensure that all evidence and ‘value for money’ criteria was met. Consequently, Business Focus over the years has developed robust audit and quality management systems to ensure that the end user is fully satisfied, and that the funder has all the quantitative and qualitative evidence to justify the success of the project.  Our experience and success means that in starting a new project we ask the right questions, get the paperwork in order, set up and agree the monitoring and evaluation criteria, and provide the best means to communicate the data to all relevant bodies.
